Respiratory Care. Children’s Hospital New Orleans is the first and largest full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South.
The Pulmonology Department provides inpatient and outpatient pediatric
pulmonary consultation, evaluation, diagnosis and therapy. Common disorders
include asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, stridor, pneumonia, and many
other acute and chronic respiratory disorders. The department also offers
modalities including intensive care; acute, chronic and home ventilation;
pneumograms; sleep studies; and fiber-optic bronchoscopy. The Pulmonology
Department utilizes the most modern computerized pulmonary function, metabolic,
and stress test equipment.
